Basement Floor Cracks

Basement Floor CracksHow do I paint a basement is concrete, but with cracks in places?

I live in an old house with a dirty dingy basement with cracks in the floor, I want to refresh it by painting the floor, I need some tips and paint sealant to use. In addition, all ideas that may be useful for this type of project.

If you place a thin layer of tiles or even one, there is a good possibility that the crack will transfer these products Thurs. The concrete must be clean, dry paint, using a paint sealant that will fill the cracks and take the movement is your best bet. You'll still see the most likely though. If no moisture problems on the laminate flooring is the cheapest (next to the paint or dye) that you can do yourself. GL

You can buy things to fill the cracks before painting.

I carpet and tile it is, if you do not have moisture problems. If they leak when it rains, forget the rug.

You can buy within outdoor carpet that can help to warm the cold feeling you get from all that concrete. If they are wet, then hang them to dry.

First clean the floor very well with a little vinegar and water. After it dries and cracks vacume the use of gray concrete Quickrete Crack Seal. It comes in a 1 qt. Bottle at Home Depot by the concrete. Fill your cracks .... let dry and sand lightly. floor vacume to get rid of dust.
Get a gallon of it Kilzer-based primer tinted water color that you want to paint the floor or the color of the grout "lines if you decide to use tape to make a drawing to painting. Paint floor with primer. Let dry and apply another layer. I use 1 part epoxy to concrete floors. Home Depot sells Behr and it was very easy to apply. Did she dyed the color you want. I I applied 2 layers with at least 16 hours between coats. After that I closed with 2 layers of water based poly. It takes about 30 minutes to dry. Then I put 3 coats of sealer PTA on the floor .... 30 minutes between coats and finally, 3 layer of ZEP Heavy Traffic Floor Finish with 30 minutes between each layer. Allow 72 hours before moving furniture in. I used a large sponge for wipe off tile grout applied sealers. He did very well.
I did it in my garage and I can ride on it without any problem. Clean with a neutral pH own as Murphy's Oil Soap.

If you can, it is probably best to get tiles for the floor instead. It will probably look better and more comfortable on your feet than the concrete wall.

Sorry that I have no advice about actual painting, but if you can afford it I really advise tile (or mat) instead.

Get a patch of cement. Mix with water according to directions and patch away. I used an oil based primer first, then simply paint a concrete and you can get the store to mix with your choice of color. Lowes or Home Depot associates can help you find all this stuff.

The floor paint better than I found it at a resonable price is thefloorpaint.co.uk

Its £ 40 + VAT (£ 47) for a box 20Litre. From what I've seen most places charge for only 5 liters.

This painting is a good thing and does the work for me. Drop them an e-mail or have them ring.

Just my opinion.

fill large cracks with non-shrink grout ... paint on small cracks that helloyello suggested ... remember you can not make chicken soup chicken ****...
