Beret Rouge Montmartre in France? When I grow up I want to spend some time in Montmartre, perhaps studying at a university for some years. If I moved there, could I expect to see prostitutes wearing long, Victorian gowns, fish net tights, lace mittens, makeup and hairdo dark high-class brothel madams with wearing this type of dresses turtlenecks, as with a pin on the neck, can-can dancers with these great dresses, artists with berets and scarves to spend time in cafes, artist model that had difficult childhood and troubled, starving writers and go to one of these hotels with dirty-looking component where I could sit on the side of the window and admire the view while drinking absinthe? Just as in Moulin Rouge? Is it still like that? This town (actually a suburb of Paris ... a suburb) is not what you think it is good ... pain ... spend your time watching the film, it was not real time the film portrays, and it is certainly not today! You can not be serious. "Moulin Rouge" is a period piece. Time does not stop anywhere. Yes, Montmartre is exactly as you describe. You better start practicing your Maurice Chevalier accent if you can adapt the rest of the American expatriates. mmm I love me Fench is a good one! I love Paris, and were able to spend some time there over the years of work. Some of the things you mention can certainly be found in the area Montmarrte. Hotels dirty windows with shutters and balconies certainly exist. Posted on March 30, 2010.
