Dramatic Eye Makeup TIPS PAGEANT

Question: I want to play me for my Glitz Pageant competition. I tried to copy the eye makeup in photos of celebrities, but mine does simply not good. Some of my colors are too steep and no matter how I put, it's just not dark enough. Help!

Answer: You can learn where and how to apply eyeshadow like the professionals, if you practice and use a few basic principles outlined below:

* The amount of pigment in an eye shadow plays an important role. The more pigment contains an eye shadow, the depth of more color you see when you apply it.

* The texture of a shadow is as important - is it a light, frost, sheer or matte.

* Another important aspect is the placement of color: the bright colors help a sector seems complete, while dark colors recede and give the area added defininition.

* Bright colors can be mixed with dark tones to cut the brightness and add a little accent color.

* Shimmer and shadows of the gel look prettier when used on the center of the upper eyelid and below the eyebrow.

For example: if you want to do by defining an "outline" of the eye:
1. you'll need a black eyeliner at the base of your lashes
2. Followed by a lightly applied all over the lid to the eyebrow
3. Then add a darker color in the outer corner of the eyelid and the crease.

For fun, you can try adding some emphasis to your eyes:
1. Put a little glitter or frost on the middle of your eyelid, or
2. Add a small amount of a bright color mixed thoroughly with shades darker than you already applied.

Apply your mascara next (and curl lashes to open your eyes).

And dazzle all directions, not to mention a fabulous pair of eyelashes or Crystal-studded lashes to finish your look!
