Are there any scholarships or grants for children of single / widowed parents? My father killed himself when I was 7 years old and my brother 8 years. Since then, my mother raised us alone. It was a fight and she never made enough money to save for our college. I want to go to a community college to get my Associates degree in veterinary technology and wanted to know if there are any grants or anything for the children of widows? Please help!
Well, first fill your FAFSA! Depending on your income moms you might be eligible for grants.
And there are a ton of scholarships out there. I'm sure there are a couple out there for someone who has lost a parent. There may be there one specifically for someone who has lost a parent to suicide.
Check http://www.fastweb.com for scholarships
and http://www.fafsa.ed.gov for grants.
Fill out a FAFSA. You can print a form of practice, prior to submitting online.
The part of the state depends on the deadline for this year. It seems that you want to enjoy, but your mother can sign, too, depending on your answers to this part of the questionnaire.
