Aquarium plants robust, such as Java Moss and Java Ferns, require injections of CO2 or any other extra work?

Can I place / plant the plants and let them be?
Would they be able to live decently?

I am not interested in them "booming", but I do not want them to be barely surviving, either.

My brother had a Java moss in the aquarium for years without additional CO2. CO2 injection will stimulate vigorous growth if the light is sufficient. Many fluorescent lamps do not produce enough light wavelengths to penetrate properly into the water.
