Make Up For Dry Skin

I'm going to compensate for heavy fancy dress which i wouldnt normally wear .. iv got quite dry skin. Lots if I moisturize before applying my makeup, it will stay? I have time to touch up my makeup all night ...

moisturizer I use Vaseline Intensive Care is brilliant, but after a few hours, my skin starts to look quite dry.
