Point Rouge What were the views of other nations of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia? It has been almost universally condemned the Khmer Rouge. However, the regime's atrocities that occurred in the late 70s when the world's memory of the disastrous American involvement in the politics of Indochina were still fresh. Therefore, if politicians around the world protested against the excesses of Pol Pot, the world did nothing. Everyone was quiet happy when the Vietnamese invaded the country after ousting Pol Pot.
