Tiss - 2007 Analysis Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was conducted January 21, 2007. TISS has always been the paper less transparent. There were 120 questions, but according to the prospectus, it should have been only 70. No student who has passed the test knew the weightage of individual questions. The test duration was 90 minutes. The total score is 70 marks. No idea how they will share in the total marks.
According to written test, there were negative marks for wrong answers, however, the magnitude of the negative rating has not been revealed. Evalution equal weightage to each question is supported. The paper was easy and the total staff cut of 43 + is a challenge. There were four response options for each question. There were four sections: Quantitative Ability (40), Verbal Ability (15), logical reasoning (20), social and business awareness (45). Only social and business awareness of the article was slightly above the average per side. In quants all the questions were easy and the average student could attempt 25-30 questions in 35 min. Many questions were from Number System, Percentages and Ratio-Proportion. But there were no questions about the speed. Verbal ability was a lot of vocabulary questions (synonyms, antonyms and analogies) and idioms. It was easy to try all 15 questions in 10 minutes.
Logical reasoning was 3 sets, each consisting of 6-7 questions. In 25 minutes it is possible to attempt 15-18 questions with greater accuracy. Social enterprises and awareness of the article was largely from questions about the management principles and the Legislature. This section could be easily broken by BCom students who experienced the "Production management and planning (MPP) course. Few issues have been on recruitment policies, the Companies Act and matters Social news. A good attempt in this section would be around 15-18 in 20 minutes.
