A plan? Counting calories? Tofu help If you are counting calories these days and need to fall a few inches around the waist, you can take a look at soy foods.
A standard 8-ounce serving of tofu contains only 147 calories. It is 3 times less than an equal weight of eggs and about 5 times less than the same weight of beef. Tofu is also low in saturated fat and cholesterol completely free.
Calories Protein
One important factor we need to look at when choosing healthy foods for a diet is the ratio of calories to protein. Except for the bean sprouts, tofu has the lowest ratio of any food other known plants. There are only 12 calories for every gram of protein used in tofu.

Here is a simple way to reinforce some salad dressing and turn a boring breakfast food into something more substantive.
Tofu Salad Dressing Recipe
* Block of tofu
* Salad
* Lettuce leaves (the darker green, the highest in calcium)
* Tomatoes
* Cucumbers
* Sunflower seeds
Mash Up a small block of tofu in a bowl. (If you're new to this and have not started doing your own yet, buy a block in most health food stores. Use only a part of it, unless you want to make a big amount of dressing. It will keep in the refrigerator for one week. We diet eat plenty of salads.)
Mix tofu with some of this low-fat Caesar or blue cheese dressing you can find in any store, mix well. Note: Let this mixture cool for some time in the refrigerator and tofu has the taste of the dressing.
Build a salad with lettuce of your choice, some tomato wedges and cucumber slices, then top with your mix of tofu-new dressing. For some added protein crisis, sprinkle with sunflower seeds on top.
Now you have a low calorie, low carbohydrate, protein, vitamins and packaged salad for lunch. Enjoy.
